Indian Startups are raising the bar 

For three consecutive quarters now, Indian startups have raised over $10 billion, with the world's third-largest startup ecosystem raising $10.8 billion in the first quarter of calendar year 2022, according to a PwC India report.

The $10.8 billion funding came from 334 deals from January to March, according to a report titled 'Startup Deals Tracker - Q1 CY22,' with SaaS companies getting the most funding. SaaS companies garnered $3.5 billion.

In the Jan-Mar quarter, investors minted 14 unicorns (out of which 5 were in the SaaS sector), taking the total number of privately held unicorn startups to 82 by 31 March 2022. 

Fintech, SaaS, edtech, logitech and autotech, and e-commerce B2C (business-to-consumer) were the top five sectors, comprising of 60% of the total funding across the last three quarters.
