WhatsApp, the Meta-owned messaging platform, has revealed that there will be four new features for “groups”- admin delete, large voice calls, message reactions, and large file sharing.
Along with these new features, they also announced “Communities”, a feature to enable the users to bring together separate groups under one umbrella.
Communities feature will help the users “receive updates sent to the entire Community and easily organize smaller discussion groups on what matters to them,” the company said in an official blog post.
The “reactions” feature will permit the users to share their reactions without bombarding the chats with messages. The “file sharing” feature will allow the users to share files upto 2 GB.
The “large voice calls” will support calls with upto 32 people, an extension from the previous 8. The “admin delete” option will enable the group admins to delete problematic messages from everyone’s chats.
WhatsApp said that these features will be "rolling out in the coming weeks so people can start trying them out even before Communities are ready".
